Why the shed matters

The new storage shed is more than a place to put extra supplies. It is a practical investment in safety, organization, and the kind of workplace we want to build every day. By moving stored items out of the office and restaurant areas, we reduce clutter, remove potential fire hazards, and create cleaner spaces for teammates, guests, and neighbors.
Our purpose
We build community for our neighbors, growth for our teammates and a vision of success for our industry.
Safety and organization
Over time, offices and restaurant spaces can collect paperwork, supplies, equipment, and seasonal items that do not belong in daily work areas. When those items pile up, they can block walkways, make cleaning harder, slow down operations, and increase fire risk.
- Remove unnecessary clutter from the office and restaurant.
- Keep exits, walkways, and work areas clear.
- Reduce fire hazards caused by excess paper, boxes, or misplaced supplies.
- Protect required paperwork by keeping it organized and stored intentionally.
- Make cleaning easier and more consistent.
- Create a calmer, sharper, and more professional work environment.

Our values in action
This project is a clear example of being accountable and finding a way. Instead of working around clutter or accepting disorganization as normal, the team created a practical solution that improves the workplace for everyone.
It also reflects our commitment to being creative, sharp, organized and safe. The shed gives us a system. Paperwork that must be retained can be labeled, boxed, and stored by date or category. Supplies can be grouped in a way that makes sense. Items that are no longer needed can be discarded properly instead of being pushed into corners or forgotten.
Core values connected to this project
We are accountable and find a way. We treat each other with dignity, equity and respect. We are creative, sharp, organized and safe. We over deliver on value. We are fiscally healthy.
Organizing what must be kept
Some paperwork must be retained for a certain amount of time for compliance, business records, or operational history. The shed creates an opportunity to build a simple retention system that protects the business and makes required records easier to find.
- Label boxes clearly by document type and date range.
- Keep required records separate from items that can be discarded.
- Store paperwork off the floor and away from moisture when possible.
- Review stored paperwork on a regular schedule.
- Shred or dispose of documents only when they are no longer required to be kept.
This supports being fiscally healthy. Good recordkeeping protects the business, helps us make informed decisions, and prevents the cost of lost documents, wasted supplies, or disorganized storage.
A story worth telling

We are storytellers, and this shed tells a simple but important story: we saw a need, took action, and made our workplace better. Operational excellence does not always come from one dramatic change. Sometimes it comes from building the right storage space, clearing the right room, labeling the right boxes, and making it easier for the team to do great work.
Thank you
Special thanks to Pedro and Travis's fiancee, Lindsay, for helping build the shed and bring this project across the finish line. Their time, teamwork, and willingness to jump in helped turn a practical need into a finished improvement for the whole team.
The shed represents care, accountability, and forward thinking. It helps us keep our environment clean, our paperwork organized, our fire risks lower, and our team focused on serving our neighbors well.
